2011

5th May 2011 "..... Le Pible can be described in two words...simply perfect. Set in beautiful countryside the house and grounds are stunning. The house is everything we hoped for, full of character yet modern and maintained to the highest standards inside and out. The gardens and pool are ideal for young children, with the owners clearly understanding the need for safety. All of this meant we could relax and enjoy the tranquil setting while having plenty of things to keep the kids and adults entertained (the table tennis was great).

Le Pible is in close proximity to some beautiful villages and there are some excellent day trips less than an hour away (if you can peel yourself away from the house and pool!)

I really can't recommend Le Pible enough. We had an amazing time and it's a beautiful place that is exactly as it appears in the photos. A perfect place to spend a week or a month and completely relax....."

our ninth time at Le Pible - do we love it here?! It’s become like out second home - wish it was! Thanks again J & J for all the fun and entertainment! If ever improvements were needed the heat in the pool has been a real bonus. The family really enjoyed their stay as usual, thank you for inviting us to move in with you during the ‘wedding week’ we had a fab time and look forward to seeing you again in September!.....” CDSellers, Yorkshire, UK

22nd May 2010 “.....
we’ve had a dreamy week staying at this enchanting property, we’ve wanted nothing, everything you need is here. Highlights have been sunbathing by the pool, barbecuing on the terrace, trips to local markets and ping pong championships, baby deer visiting the garden and generally feeling relaxed and refreshed! If you get the chance to have a beauty treatment from Lorraine - do it, she works wonders!.....” R.Martin, London, UK

th Sept 2009 "......this is an outstanding holiday rental property. Beautifully decorated, incredibly rural and great for kids. The owners live in the same hamlet and provide you with the warmest of welcomes yet the privacy family holidays need. There are a variety of local restaurants - and Le Tourbieres which is situated in the middle of a nature reserve with beavers. If you crave peace and quiet but a stunning house - Le Pible provides this....." SMWS, London, UK

9th February 2010 "..... le Pible really is all you dream rural France to be! From the moment you turn up the drive and see the beautifully restored farmhouse, you know you are going to have a holiday to remember. We arrived late evening all very tired yet excited and were warmly welcomed by Jane and Johnny the owners. We greatly appreciated the supply of milk, bread and butter to see us through to the next morning.

The house itself is tastefully decorated, spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. An arrangement of flowers from the garden is a perfect finishing touch. And don't worry about packing the kitchen sink! Le Pible really does have everything you could ever need, from plug-in Mosquito repellants to romantic candles with matches.

The surrounding countryside will keep you happy for hours, with endless sunflower fields and little villages to explore. A dream for the photographer or artist.

Our children (7 & 4 years) were never without something to do. Whether it be table tennis (which can also be played if the weather is a little wet), badminton, volley ball and football, or bike riding, fishing and of course swimming. Even if the weather is not on your side, there is a great selection of board games, books, and DVDs.

We have wonderful memories of long BBQ lunch's by the pool, in its gorgeous private surroundings. Warm evenings on the raised patio at the rear of the house were also a must for a family BBQ or a romantic dinner for two watching the sunset. If you can tear yourself away from Le Pible's relaxing atmosphere there is lots of sightseeing to do, lovely local markets to visit and if its a restaurant you want, Jane will happily help with suggestions.

We wanted to keep Le Pible our own secret relaxing getaway, but we cant help telling people how wonderful it is!"

31st August 2009 "......a truly wonderful property in a peaceful location.  The attention to detail is second to none with modern, comfortable furniture and much thought given to the needs of the holiday maker.  I have to say that our experience at Le Pible was faultless, home from home.  It is a quiet location and a car is essential to reach local shops and restaurants but this did not bother us at all,  it added to the de-stressing of our vacation.  I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying this property!........" 22nd May 2009 "...... a perfect peaceful vacation! How can we find words to express our good fortune in finding Le Pible for our 2-week stay? The house was so inviting with the beautiful flower-filled garden from the moment we drove in. The rooms were warm and comfortable and the decorations beautiful and tasteful, including wonderful oil paintings. The kitchen was fully equipped with even the necessities in the pantry. In the dining room was a beautiful arrangement of roses from the garden. The terrace with table, chairs, loungers and geranium pots was a great place to relax and contemplate the view over the fields that would remove the "world stress" from anyone. All around are beautiful English gardens with magnificent roses. Best of all are the hosts, Jane and Johnny, who are always there ready to be helpful but never intruding. The pool is really special, being totally private and beautifully landscaped like all the rest of the property. We were lucky to be there when wildflowers were in profusion in the surrounding countryside. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.......” Clifton & Myrtle, Atlanta, USA.

29th May 2009 “...... little slice of heaven! My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful week at Le Pible. Although I have never written a property review before, in this instance, I feel compelled to do so. The farmhouse where we stayed, is a beautiful building with every possible comfort and amenity, truly a 'home away from home'! The views from the terrace across the fields are breathtaking. We particularly enjoyed Le Pible's location, for all the possibilities it offered - visits to quaint towns, local markets and cafés as well as wonderful day trips to such places as Saint Emilion and Montbazillac - just over an hour away. The owners of Le Pible, Jane and Jonathan were very welcoming and helpful. Le Pible is truly a little 'slice of heaven' and we would love to vacation there again some day.......” Dee & Derek, Chicago, USA.
