the open plan of the ground floor centers around the farmhouse kitchen, Itself extensively equipped for cooking enthusiasts and lovers of good food, with fridge freezers, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, toaster etc. This pretty country kitchen features a central butchers block over which hang all the essential ingredients for French cooking: garlic, onions and herbs! Stone slabs keep cheeses cool alongside racks for your wines! Cupboards are well stocked with china, glasses, serving dishes, pots and pans – in fact everything you need to enjoy a family meal involving as little effort as possible!

the dining area leads off from the kitchen, from where you enjoy tranquil views across the countryside, through large French doors that lead onto the terrace. Whilst comfortably seating 8 people, there are place settings for 10/12. So whether you decide to take breakfast out on the terrace enjoying the early morning sun, or in the cool of the house, the smell of fresh coffee from the kitchen is never far away!

the charming sitting room is sympathetically furnished around a pretty, stone, working fireplace and features one of two original elm staircases spiralling up through two floors. Whilst remaining cool during the heat of the day, the west facing terrace doors permit the setting sun to shine through the house at the end of the day.

one of two family shower rooms with a double sized walk in shower, WC, hand basin, heated towel rail and shaver/hairdryer plug is found on the ground floor. There is a laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board, vacuum cleaner etc.

four pretty bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 8 people are also accessible from the second staircase leading out of the kitchen. Two of the bedrooms have wrought iron double beds and two have twin beds. Each is simply and thoughtfully furnished in French country style. The rising sun streams through into the courtyard each morning, filling bedrooms with it's warmth, and the early morning song from swallows and nightingales nesting in the barns and nearby woodlands - charming vignettes of French life abound from every window of the farmhouse.

A further shower room with shower cabinet, WC, hand basin, heated towel rail, and shaver/hairdryer plug is on the first floor.

soft discreet lighting
throughout the house compliments the unusual features and gives an inviting warm ambient feel at the end of the day. All day long the sun and warmth filter in from the courtyard, yet thick stone walls keep the house fresh and comfortable during the hot summer months.. The farmhouse is simply furnished with a subtle blend of antique and contemporary furniture and a friendly atmosphere radiates the whole house.

2mb broadband 'open' wireless facility is free available and a telephone is installed in the house so that guests may be contacted if they so wish and outgoing calls can be obtained with the use of a phone card. Reception for mobile phones is still a little weak, but standing under the ash tree just along the farm track usually produces a good signal! UK satellite television, ‘Free to View’ (BBC, ITV, 24 News, children’s channels, radio etc) is installed along with a DVD player and portable CD audio player.
